Governmental
Affairs
- Randolph County/Moberly
Economic Development Corporation.
Governmental Affairs seeks to be informed on issues
on local, state and national levels effecting business,
industry and the general citizenry. At the local level
issues of zoning, building codes/enforcement and quality
of life issues are reviewed. At the state level the
council plans and raises funds to have legislative
receptions in Jefferson City. Recently, a few years
back,council sent a delegation to Washington D.C. to
testify before a surface transportation sub-committee
dealing with funding for U.S. Highway 63. In addition
council and staff assist the offices of state and federal
elected officials with "listening posts" or "town hall"
meetings in Randolph county.
