What is Your Chamber
of Commerce?
The Chamber of Commerce ... it's the
doctor's office near the hospital ... the attorney handling a real estate transaction or
estate ... the grocery store or the local strip mall .. the jeweler or clothier downtown
... and the manufacturer or distributor in the industrial park. It's the dentist, the
stock broker, teacher, the in-home business, the automotive supply and the auto mechanic.
It's a neighbor, a friend, a member of your club or someone sitting next to you in church.
Friends all, neighbors, citizens working together through one civic organization, Moberly
Area Chamber of Commerce, with a common goal of making Moberly/Randolph county a better
place to live, work and raise a family. The Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce is merely the
vehicle for accomplishment -- for achievement of a better community ... by way of
organized group behavior, with group knowledge and experience, mobilized for civic
"KNOW HOW."

Long Range Planning
The Chamber will encourage governmental
entities to engage in the planning process and will offer to facilitate in anh appropriate
way the implementation and follow-through of a county or regional strategic plan.
Urban/Rural
Redevelopment
The Chamber will, as a part of any
strategic planning process, address the need to improve blighted areas and situations that
negatively impact the "curb appeal" of the city and county. Tha plan should
cover both redevelopment as well as new development of designated areas. The Chamber will
address funding through taxes, public/private partnerships or other means to carryout
needed development or rehabilitation.
Crime Prevention
The Chamber will work in concert with
various agencies to seek pro-active methods to provide "at-risk" youth with
alternative programs tht are shown to reduce the cycle of crime. Further, the Chamber will
work with all local law enforcement to seek improved and efficient crime deterrents and
prevention with present funding and additional funding if necessary.
Technology
The Chamber will work with educational
entities and private enterprises to communicate and teach the benefits of new technoogies.
Efforts will target our members first, and later, the entire community as we seek
financially sound opportunities to connect to the information superhighway.
Regional Promotion
The Chamber, through it's own efforts as
well as in concert with others will work to promote the quality of life available in the
Moberly/Randolph County area. All types of marketing opportunities and media will be used
as funding allows to keep the region on the cutting edge of economic development,
community devlopment and tourism.
Community Relations
The Chamber will continue to reach out
to all citizens throughout Randolph County through meetings and other methods of
communication with the intent of building even better relationships among cities, towns
and unincorporated areas.
Best Practices
The Chamber will review it's activities
to determine "best practices" and to survey other Chambers to learn about their
successful programs and services.
